Lapain, Stella (nee Green)

Born on January 20, 1925 and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 4, 2022, at 97 years of age. Daughter of the late Stanley and Florence. Dear wife of the late Orville William Lapain (1984). Loving mother of John Lapain (Sue), Michael Lapain, Donna Raymond (late Pat) and Terry Lapain (Adrienne). Treasured grandma of Carrie-Lynn (David), Johnny (Cathy), Denise (Dave), Shari (Jake), Erica, Patrick (Karen), Shawn (Gina), Shane, and Matthew (Bethany). Great grandma of Justin, Danny, Caitlyn, Kayla, Kaiden, Mackenzie, Aasha, Anneliese, and Jamieson. Great-great grandma of Landyn, Victoria, Julia, Carson, Lorelai, and Joshua. Best friend of the late Bernard R. Roy and the late Ed Anber. Sister of Stan (Kathy); the late Phyllis, late Richard, late Ron (Anne), and the late Vera (late Al). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and especially Trish Walsh (mom’s little flower girl).

Stella was very active with the Ladies Auxiliary with the Knights of Columbus # 2844 in McGregor and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion # 201 – Essex. She also worked for Union Gas in Windsor at one time.
Special thanks to all her caregivers at Iler Lodge, especially Monica, Nara, April, and Mary for all your love and compassion shown to our mother.

Stella is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North, Essex on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. On Thursday, family and friends are invited to gather at St. Clements Church in McGregor after 10 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Clements Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Royal Canadian Legion Branch – 201 Poppy Fund” or to “Iler Lodge Family Council” (by cheque please).
