With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved John on July 6, 2022, at 59 years of age. Dear husband of 34 years to Wendy (nee Battersby). Loving father of Jake (Hannah), Seth and his faithful companion Killer. Son of the late Jack and Carol Walton. Stepson of Jake Rawson. Son-in-law of Phyllis and the late Carl Battersby. Treasured brother of Jim Walton (Cheryl), Judy Robinson (Andy) and Joanne Voakes (Whitey). Brother-in-law of Chris Battersby (Diane), Cindy Phillips (Brad), and Carl Battersby. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. John Boy began working at Ford Motor Company in 1988 where he has made many friends over the years. He loved the game of hockey and suited up as a goalie. John Boy was a dedicated Detroit Red Wing fan and hockey dad. He spent many hours at the family bush. John Boy is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North in Essex on Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. for a time to visit and share memories. Cremation will follow.
